HOW WE PRACTICE

WE ARE CONSISTENTLY CONSULTED AND RETAINED BECAUSE WE STRIVE TO ACHIEVE EARLY AND COST-EFFECTIVE RESOLUTIONS TO FINANCIAL DISPUTES.

Although we approach every case as if it will end up in Court, we are proud that most of them do not. Timely resolution is our Priority #1. We are “outside-the-box” thinkers, and we help achieve resolutions outside of Court in the majority of our cases. We view Court as a last resort, but when cases cannot be resolved, we will express our neutral and independent opinion when instructed to do so, clearly and concisely, and we will stand behind that opinion, inside the Courtroom or other decision-rendering forum. We are a group of experienced professionals who are trusted and respected by the legal community, our colleagues, our clients, and most importantly, the Courts.

Achieving resolution in a financial dispute should always be unemotional, and always with cost-benefit in mind. As accountants, this comes naturally to us. We view the resolution of a financial dispute as a business decision plain-and-simple, in a detached manner. We strive to understand cases at the outset, in order to consider the range of likely outcomes, and the costs to achieve those outcomes.

We have experience with the full range of financial disputes. We come from different backgrounds, and we have specialists in person vs. person disputes, person vs. business disputes and businesses vs. businesses. We assist the legal community with financial disputes in the context of breach of contract and tort. We have experience with civil and criminal cases. We have a full slate of consultants to the firm, who provide specialized services related to personal and corporate income tax, asset appraisal, estate matters, actuarial services and select industry specialties, when necessary.

CONVENIENTLY LOCATED

Our main office is in the venerable Annex area of Toronto steps away from the TTC. We also have a peaceful rural location east of the city where meetings can be arranged. Of course, we also do “house calls.”

If you’re visiting us at our rural location, please advise us in advance if you are not pet-friendly. Our four-legged friends often keep us company if we are spending time at this office.
